A Year-End Message from Our CEO, Brooke King

As we approach the close of 2025, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to the entire Intergenerational Schools community. This year has been marked by continued progress, collaborative efforts, and countless moments that remind us why this work matters.

For 25 years, the Intergenerational Schools have been a place where students, families, teachers, volunteers, and community partners come together to create something extraordinary. This anniversary year has given us the opportunity to reflect on the foundation we've built and the relationships that sustain us.

To our students and alumni:

Thank you for always reminding us about the power and innate goodness of young hearts and minds. We see you showing kindness, empathy, ingenuity, and perseverance, in small moments every day. You continue to surprise and amaze us in new ways while we learn from and with each other, and we are privileged to be a part of your growth.

To our families:

Thank you for choosing the Intergenerational Schools and for trusting us with your children's education. Your partnership makes everything we do possible—from attending conferences, community meetings, and school events where you children show off their hard work, to answering calls and reaching out to help keep the lines of communication open in supporting them. You are your child’s number one advocate, and we’re grateful for your presence in our community.

To our staff:

Your dedication, creativity, and non-stop care shape the daily experiences that help our students thrive. You model lifelong learning and bring our mission to life in every classroom, conversation, hallway interaction, and every connection you make. We see you uplift each other when it’s needed, all in pursuit of championing our students.

To our volunteers and learning partners:

You bridge generations and show us what it means to contribute to a shared community. Your time, experience, and wisdom are gifts we don't take for granted. Sometimes just a willingness to listen is what our children need and you provide that with openness and undivided attention.

To our board members, donors, and community partners:

Your support allows us to continue innovating, growing and meeting the needs of our families. You help us do more with less, and your strong belief in our mission and the power of intergenerational learning helps us transform lives and strengthen our communities, even in the face of external pressures to cut and conform. We have been able to stay true to our mission for 25 years due to your support and guidance.

As we move into 2026, we carry forward the lessons of this year and the gratitude we feel for every unique person, from five years old to 95, who makes the Intergenerational Schools what they are. Thank you for being part of our story.

Here's to the year ahead and to the countless moments of connection still to come.
