How Enrollment Works
We welcome applications year-round and enroll students in grades K-8 at both campuses based on available space. Here’s what to know:
Early Enrollment
(January – early March)
Apply during this window to receive priority placement for the upcoming school year. This is the best time to secure your spot, especially for kindergarten.
Regular Enrollment
(March – early August)
Applications continue to be accepted and reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis for any remaining open seats for the upcoming school year.
Year-Round Transfers
Not sure your current school is meeting your child’s needs? We accept applications throughout the year for students transferring mid-year, based on availability.

What You’ll Need to Enroll
Enrolling is simple. You’ll create a free PowerSchool account and submit a few required documents:
- Proof of residency (utility bill, lease, or mortgage dated within the past 90 days)
- Birth certificate (official copy showing your child’s legal name and guardians)
- Immunization records (up-to-date vaccination history)
Don’t have everything ready? You can start your application and submit documents as you gather them.

Near West Intergenerational School opened in 2011 in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood.
